Chemical Name: 2-[4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-5-oxo-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-5-ethyl-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid Formula: C15H19N3O3 Molecular weight: 289.30 CAS No.: 81335-77-5 Structure:
Description: Appearance: Slight yellow to brown powder. Melting Point: 169-173°C. Vapour Pressure: 0.01m Pa at 20°C. Stability: Solubility in water 1.4mg/L, 45, in acetone 48.2 g/L, 105g/l in methanol; slightly soluble in toluene about 5g/l, 17 g/l in isopropanol, 0.9 g/l in heptanc, very slightly soluble in heptane. Specification: 97%TC, 70%WP,10%SL, 70%WDG Uses: it is an imidazole compound used as a selective herbicide. It is applied preplant incorporated, preemergence, at cracking, and postemergence. The compound controls weeds by reducing the levels of three branched-chain aliphatic amino acids, isoleucine, leucine and valine, through the inhibition of aceto-hydroxyacid synthase, an enzyme common to the biosynthetic pathway for these amino acids. |
